07 Oct How to get a longer wearing and more polished eyeshadow look
Do you own all the eyeshadow makeup palettes but they are just are not giving you the makeup look and finish you desire?
Does your eyeshadow crease?
Does it wear off and the colour disappear?
Do you buy eyeshadow colours that look fabulous in the packaging but they don’t look the same when you wear them?
Do you just want to neutralise the pinky/bluey colour on your eyelids to freshen the eyes?
Entering the chat…EYELID and EYESHADOW PRIMERS
These are amazing, and basically allow for smoother application and longer wear of your eye make up. Eyelid and eyeshadow primers will even the skin tone of the eyelid and allow a truer colour pay off of eyeshadow colour.
Eyelid and eyeshadow primers are essential to your eye make up application. Apply them on the upper eyelid but also extend along your lower lash line, connecting on the outer corner too. I do like to then blend and soften them out with a brush too.
Here are a few of my favourite Eyelid and Eyeshadow Primers that I regularly use:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – This comes in a neutral base shade. It has a really lightweight texture that adds no weight to the eyelid. It extends eyeshadow wear and is particularly good to give a true colour pay off to your eyeshadows.
MAC Paintpots in Painterly or Soft Ochre – A great skin tone neutraliser that conceals discolouration of the eyelids. They are a slightly thicker/heavier formula and work great alone or under eyeshadow. They do come in more shades, if you want a create a darker or more smouldering eye makeup look.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Eyeshadow Sticks – These are a stand alone long wear eyeshadow in a twist up stick form, but they also double up as a primer when in need. This product comes in a full spectrum of colours that have 12 hours wear. The neutral colours like Bone, Shore and Suede act as the perfect primer to prolong the longevity of your powder eyeshadows, or give a natural colour pay off. If you want a coloured or stronger eye look just choose a colour in the Long Wear Cream Eyeshadow and use alone.
So if longer wearing and smoother eyeshadow application is what you are looking for, try one of these little gems out!
